Under the norms of the Code of Canon Law and having duly consulted with the Presbyteral Council, the Ministerial Personnel and Placement Board, and the pastoral leadership of the affected parishes, Bishop Barnes establishes a new parish community, BLESSED KATERI TEKAKWITHA PARISH, BANNING, effective July 1, 2006. This new parish will be comprised of the combining of San Gorgonio Parish in Beaumont and Precious Blood Parish in Banning. Ms. Lynn S. Zupan is appointed as the founding Pastoral Coordinator of the new parish effective July 1, 2006 for an initial term of 3 years. Assigned as Priest Ministers of the new parish are Reverend Paul Boudreau, Reverend Hector Restrepo, and a third full-time priest to be named. Father Frank Lowe, current pastor of Precious Blood Parish will receive a new pastoral assignment for July 1, 2006. We congratulate Ms. Zupan on receiving this important pastoral assisgnment from Bishop Barnes. Please keep the Banning and Beaumont parishes in your prayers as the begin their important work of bringing together their faith communities.
